World's First Strip Poker Tournament

The World's First Strip Poker Championship was held at Café Royal, London. hosted by Paddy Power.

As the first, it was guaranteed to hold the Guinness World Record of the most participants. The rules are strict and everything must be verified. The Record Breakers Pack has ten pages of rules and two appendices
of eight and seven pages respectively.

 Nearly 200 people took part. Each were given five items of clothing by the organisers. Once completely naked they were given a towel to sit on and cover themselves.

The winner of the "No Limit Texas Hold 'em". eight hour tournament with contestants from 12 countries was 32 year old John Young. The freelance writer from Slough won a £10,000 pot.

John sportingly bared all to secure a further £10,000 for charity.
